Marrakech: medina, souks and gardens, and how to find your way without stress

Marrakech is intense: smells, noise and labyrinthine alleys. With a few habits, such as starting early and carrying an offline map, the visit becomes much more comfortable.
Jemaa el-Fnaa square
It changes a lot with the time of day: quiet in the morning, and in the late afternoon and evening it fills with stalls and music. Visit it at both times.

Souks and haggling
Haggling is part of the culture. Do it politely and without rushing: if you do not want to buy, a friendly no is enough.
Palaces and tombs
The Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs are good cultural stops. Go first thing to avoid the hottest hours.
Gardens to rest
The Majorelle Garden and other green spaces offer refuge from the heat and the bustle. Book entry if possible.
